Norma passed away on Monday evening at sunset surrounded by her family and caregivers at Hazel Hawkins Hospital. Norma was the daughter of L.P. and Fairy Williams and spent her childhood years in Texas. Her father was a cattle rancher and her family moved to Walnut Springs, Tx., where she met her future husband, J.W. (Jay) Jackson, who passed away on January 13, 2000. Norma moved with her family to Southern California where she attended Pepperdine College. She married Jay and followed him through his deployment during WWII in California and Texas where she worked on the two bases. At the end of the war, they lived and worked in Southern California where their first son John was born. A short time later, they moved to the hills south of San Juan Bautista with her parents again to pursue the cattle business. Jay was awarded the regional distributorship of Golden State Dairies which later became known as Formost. Norma became the office manager and accountant for the young company at their offices in downtown Hollister. Their second son David came along soon after. The company expanded as did the family with the birth of Patrick, and both company and family moved to a new location on Airline Highway. Norma, a busy wife and mother of three, also continued to do the books for the family’s local drive-in restaurants and worked in the R.O. Hardin School Library following her lifelong love of literature. She also attended classes at Gavilan College. Norma was active in the Eastern Star and also stayed in loving contact with her sorority sisters from Pepperdine. She was a wonderful mother who was always a great supporter of her sons’ work and successes. She is survived by her sons John (Delette), David (Rebecca), and Patrick (Tammy), her grandson Ross, and her brother L.P. Williams Jr. (Marian).
