A Hollister man wanted on suspicion of committing lewd and
lascivious acts with a minor under age 14 has been arrested in
Porterville, according to the Hollister Police Department.

San Benito County’s Jason R. Ayala, 37, was arrested Friday at a family member’s home in Porterville where he had been staying. Police had issued a warrant Aug. 18 for the Hollister man’s arrest on the charges alleging lewd acts with the girl.
Hollister police detectives had received an anonymous tip on his whereabouts, according to a statement.
Police first responded to the report Aug. 9. The juvenile reported Ayala assaulted her that day and on a previous occasion.
In Porterville, his family was cooperative and there were no problems with the arrest, according to the statement.
He is in custody at the San Benito County Jail with bail set at $100,000.
His last reported address on the state’s Megan’s Law website, which tracks sex offenders, lists his address in San Juan Bautista. He has been convicted of oral copulation with a person under age 16, along with lewd and lascivious acts with a child ages 14 or 15.
