One person has been airlifted to a San Jose hospital with major injuries following an early morning traffic collision on Pole Line Road near Mt. Madonna Park west of Gilroy, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The two-vehicle accident occurred around 7:19 a.m. south of Summit Road, and emergency crews initially may have had trouble finding the accident because of its remote location, CHP Officer Tiffany Lopez said.
An occupant in one of the vehicles used OnStar, a communications, security and navigation feature, to report the accident and its approximate location, Lopez said.
