Onecimo “Oni” Solis passed away peacefully on November 2nd, 2010, at Kaiser Hospital in San Jose at the age of 74. Onecimo was born in Grulla, Texas and spent the past 47 years living in Hollister raising his family. He worked as a mechanic for Gilroy Foods for 33 years and retired in 1998.

Onecimo loved to play cards, hunt, play softball, and be around people. Onecimo and his wife Nora recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in January of this year.

Onecimo is survived by his wife Nora, daughters Sylvia (Lupe) of Hollister, Selma (Marty) of Yuma, AZ; sons Onecimo Jr. (Judy) of Hollister, and Oscar (Sandra) of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren Angie, Heather, Gustavo, James, Valerie, Sarah, Jarod, Vanessa, and Olivia, and great-grandchildren Marco, Stephanie, Steven, Trenton, and Madyson.

Onecimo is also survived by his mother, Petra Solis, of Grulla, TX and numerous siblings, all from Texas. Onecimo was preceded in death by his father Apolinio Solis, and brothers, Apolinar and Jesus.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, November 5th, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito St. in Hollister. A private burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Hollister.
