A memorial service will be held on June 11, 2013 at 11:00A.M., in the chapel at Lincoln Glen Manor, 2671 Plummer Ave., San Jose, CA 95125. Opal was born in Tres Pinos, CA and lived in Hollister until she moved to Morgan Hill when she married Caesar Rolla. She spent many happy years on the Rolla ranch in Morgan Hill, growing flowers and vegetables and harvesting the prunes and walnuts that grew on the property. When the property was sold to Kawahara Nursery, she continued to live in her home and became an unofficial member of the Kawahara family.
After she moved from Morgan Hill to San Jose, she made her home for the last six years at Lincoln Glen Manor with many new friends and activities. She passed away peacefully three hours into her 95th year.
She was predeceased by her husband Caesar and her only daughter Karen Sanchez.
She is survived by her step-sons, Dick (Genevieve) Rolla of San Jose, CA and Phil (Rosella) Rolla of Bruzella, Switzerland and her son-in-law, Frank Sanchez of Fresno, CA. She is also survived by grandchildren Phillip (Gwynne) Rolla, San Jose, CA, Kristin Rolla, New York City, New York, Cheryl (Eric) Downs, Sammimish, WA and Julie Hollins, Fresno, CA.
She was dearly loved by her six great-grandchildren: Sofia, Dominic and Natalie Rolla; Emma and Ethan Downs and Jacob Hollins.
