Hollister – Police officers and firefighters responded to an accident Thursday afternoon in which a woman drove her pickup truck into a building on Tres Pinos Road.

The woman, who has not been identified, drove her Chevrolet Silverado over an abutment and hit the front of Associated Realtors about 2pm Thursday. Emergency crews responded to assess injuries and damage to the building.

There were no injuries.

Linda Brown, who said she arrived at the building at the moment of the crash, stood outside of the building waiting for her husband.

“I think she just put it in drive instead of reverse,” Brown said. “You could tell. And then she gunned it.”

Ron Brown, her husband, was working inside Gabilan Properties when he heard and felt the crash.

“It felt like an earthquake,” he said. “And then I thought the heater had fallen out of the top.”

Martha Del Real of Hollister was next door getting her nails done at Perfect Nails Thursday afternoon. When the crash occurred, Del Real said, everyone ran outside to see what happened.

Del Real described the driver’s reaction in the aftermath of the crash.

“She was crying, the poor thing,” Del Real said. “And she was saying … ‘Oh my God, what am I going to do?’ I feel sorry for her.”
