CHILD ABUSE:
Ricardo Flores, 28, of 921 Powell St. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police at 12:48pm in the 900 block of Powell Street on Sunday for inflicting injury to a child, a felony, after he bit his 18-month old son on the arm, leaving a bite mark, to teach him a lesson because he was biting people, police said.
ARSON:
Unknown suspects burned six lockers at San Benito High School around 7pm on Sunday, but the fire department could not determine how the fire was started and the incident is still under investigation, police said.
CHILD MOLESTATION:
Misty Marie Traversari, 18, who lives in the 900 block of Plum Street in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police on Friday for lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 years old, a felony, after she allegedly fondled and orally copulated a 9-year-old boy she is related to, police said.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE:
Joseph Kenneth Turner, 28, who lives in the 500 block of Fifth Street in Hollister, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol for driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level of .15, a misdemeanor, at Monterey and Hawkins streets at 2:13am on Sunday, police said.
Catherine Amber Propst, 21, who lives in the 600 block of Seely Avenue in Aromas, was arrested by the CHP for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, at San Benito and Second streets at 3:42am on Saturday, police said.
Henry Enrique, 20, of 161 Sally St. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for driving under the influence and exhibition of speed, misdemeanors, for doing burn-outs in the middle of the street in the 400 block of Madrone Drive around 1am on Friday, police said.
DRUG POSSESSION:
Samuel Mendoza, 28, of San Jose, was arrested by the CHP for possession of cocaine with intent to sell and attempt to transport, crossing over the double yellow lines, felonies, and speeding and being an unlicensed driver, misdemeanors, on Highway 25 south of Shore Road at 9:15pm on Saturday, police said. Officers found several packages of cocaine in Mendoza’s car after searching it, police said.
Rebecca Ford, 40, of 711 Del Mar Dr. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for possession of 2.3 grams of methamphetamine, a felony, during a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Hillcrest Road at 3:07pm on Friday, police said.
All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
