Around 8 p.m. on April 30, officers arrested a juvenile stumbling drunk in front of a home on the first block of Hazel Street. As officers were driving by they watched the boy stumble and almost fall down three times. When police tried to talk to him, he ran and tried to climb a fence but was unable to.
Burglary, Hazel Street
Police responded to a call of trespassing near the first block of Hazel Street at around 11:30 p.m. on April 30. The property owner called police after he discovered four juveniles and two 18-year-old males inside and damaging the abandoned property. The six suspects are accused of causing more than $1,000 worth of damage to the property. The two adults were arrested and the four juveniles were cited.
Theft, San Benito Street
Just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday near the 200 block of San Benito Street, police arrested a 14-year-old juvenile after pulling the vehicle he was driving over because it was speeding at least 20 mph above the posted 25 mph limit. When officers ran the vehicle’s registration they discovered the vehicle was reported stolen in Gilroy. Police arrested the juvenile and a cited the vehicle’s two other juvenile passengers.
Robbery, Airline Highway
At 10:30 a.m. Saturday, police reported a robbery at the Starbucks on Airline Highway. A woman was walking when the suspect ran and grabbed her purse before fleeing in a getaway car. The woman identified the license plates and called the police. Officers identified the plates and arrested the suspect.
Under the influence, Memorial Drive
Police were called by the fire department for immediate medical help near the 800 block of Memorial Drive just after 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The fire department found the male on the side of the street “passing out.” The suspect was taken to the hospital to receive medical attention and testing. Police are still determining what he was under the influence of.
Delinquency, Fourth Street
At 3:30 a.m. Sunday as officers were passing by the intersection of Fourth Street and Westside Boulevard they watched two males, one adult and one juvenile, drink beer. When police stopped to talk, the adult refused to cooperate or give any information. The adult was arrested and the juvenile was cited and handed over to his parents.
Burglary, Tres Pinos Road
Police responded to Safeway at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, when store employees reported a 25-year-old female stole a box of oatmeal. The woman walked into the store and tried to return items that didn’t have tags on them. After the cashier denied the items, the woman left the store with oatmeal in her hands. Police are still investigating.
Burglary, Versailles Drive
Police reported a burglary that took place between April 4 and May 3 when the victim noticed his gun safe was broken into, and his two rifles and large sword were taken at the 1300 block of Versailles Drive. The man, who doesn’t own the property but keeps items in it, reported no forced entry, but his safe was smashed an the times were missing. Police have no suspects and are still investigating.
False impersonation, Tres Pinos Road
At 5:30 p.m. Tuesday police reported to Kmart when a female juvenile was caught stealing. The girl was caught taking candy bars and hair dye before she was questioned by security. When asked for her name she gave false information, including a fake I.D. Police cited her and handed her to her parents.
Burglary, Glarner Street
Around 1:45 p.m., police responded to a report of two teens with long hair stealing a T.V. and putting it into the back of their white car near the 2100 block of Glarner Street. Police are still investigating.
