Sexual intercourse with a minor
A 21-year-old Santa Clara County man is being investigated by the San Benito County District Attorney’s Office on suspicion of having sex with his 16-year old girlfriend. According to police, the man and the girl live together in Santa Clara County but the sexual intercourse, for which they are being investigated, happened in Hollister.
Hollister Police spokeswoman Rosie Betanio said the two have been in a relationship for “several years” and that they have an infant child together. The investigation began May 29 and no arrests have been made.
Forced sexual penetration
A Santa Clara County woman has accused a Hollister man of entering into a bathroom while she was taking a shower, holding her down and penetrating her with his finger. Hollister police spokeswoman Rosie Betanio said the woman has said she was visiting a friend in Hollister when the friend’s boyfriend assaulted her. An investigation is being conducted and no arrests have been made.
Burglary
A 23-year-old Hollister resident was arrested and charged with burglary on suspicion of breaking into a Jeep Cherokee parked on the 700 block of C Street and stealing $3 in loose change. According to police, the owner of the vehicle phoned police after seeing a man inside the car. Police arrived shortly after and found the man down the street with the coins. He was booked into San Benito County Jail.
