Vehicle theft

Thieves stole a 1984 Toyota pickup truck from the driveway of a home in the 100 block of Gibson Drive in Hollister between 7pm Thursday and 7am Friday, the Hollister Police Department said. There are no suspects.

Thieves stole a 2001 BMW parked on the street in front of a residence in the 1500 block of Valley View Road in Hollister between 10:30pm Friday and 6:20am Saturday, police said. There are no suspects.

Thieves stole a Mercury Sable from the driveway of a home in the 900 block of Palm Street in Hollister between 11:30am Thursday and 1:30pm Friday, police said. There are no suspects.

Vandalism

Vandals spray painted an apartment building on Del Rio Court in Hollister between 6pm Friday and 9:58am Sunday, police said. Vandals spray painted “Norteño” and “Sureño,” two rival street gangs, police said. There are no suspects.

Vandals spray painted a house in the 900 block of Apricot Lane in Hollister between 9pm Friday and 6am Saturday, police said. Vandals spray painted “Norteño” on the side of the house, police said. There are no suspects.

Vandals spray painted a fence in the 800 block of Bonnie View Drive in Hollister between 9pm Friday and 6am Saturday, police said. Vandals spray painted “Sureño” on the fence, police said. There are no suspects.

Vandals broke the windshield of a vehicle on the street in front of a residence in the 1200 block of Rancho Drive in Hollister between 11pm Saturday and 10am Sunday, police said. Vandals also scratched “X14,” and “XH,” into the vehicle’s paint, both Norteño gang signs, police said. There are no suspects.

Arrests

Evading police

Rodolfo Barrientos, 36, of the 1700 block of Valonia Way in Hollister, was arrested by the Hollister Police Department on suspicion of misdemeanor evading a peace officer after a short pursuit in the 800 block of Nash Road at 1am Friday, police said.

Resisting arrest

Robert Giddings, 24, of Aromas, was arrested by police on suspicion of resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, and several felony warrants after officers, assisted by a San Benito County Sheriff’s Office deputy, checked a car in the 500 block of Virginia Drive in Hollister at 12:02pm Friday, police said. Giddings allegedly gave a false name and resisted arrest, police said. The deputy tasered Giddings and officers arrested him, police said.

Drugs

Charles Duane Martin, 45, of San Juan Bautista, was arrested by police on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, a felony, after officers checked a vehicle in the 700 block of South Street in Hollister at 6:38pm Friday, police said. Martin had a misdemeanor warrant and was allegedly found to be in possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Ruben Jaquez, 18, of the 1900 block of Clearview Drive in Hollister, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale and transportation of a controlled substance, both felonies, after a traffic stop in the 600 block of Sunnyslope Road at 2:03am Saturday, police said. Officers allegedly smelled marijuana odor coming from the vehicle and found Jaquez in possession of about two grams of methamphetamine and four grams of cocaine in separate plastic bags, police said.

Weapon possession

Baudelio Galvan, 48, of the 200 block of Line Street, was arrested by police on suspicion of possession of an illegal weapon, a felony, and giving a false name to a peace officer, a misdemeanor, after being stopped in the 500 block of Fifth Street in Hollister on a warrant at 10:42pm Friday, police said.

Drunk in public

Luz Ahumada, 28, of the 500 block of A Street in Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of being drunk in public, a misdemeanor, in the parking lot of Agua Azul on East Street in Hollister at 8:15pm Friday, police said.

Roman Lopez, 44, of the 800 block of Paseo Drive in Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of being drunk in public, a misdemeanor, on Del Monte Drive in Hollister at 2:26pm Saturday, police said.

Stephanie Elizabeth Allen, 39, of Hollister, was arrested by the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of being drunk in public, a misdemeanor, after deputies responded to a possible fight in the 1300 block of Hillcrest Road in Hollister at 6pm Saturday, deputies said.

Domestic violence

Anna Borup, 19, of Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of domestic violence, a misdemeanor, after fighting and scratching a man at 1:20pm Sunday, police said.

Driving under the influence

Israel Cortez, 32, of the 800 block of Powell Street in Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after officers stopped him on San Felipe Road at 2:13am Saturday, police said.

Jess Carrasco Ramirez, 51, of the 2500 block of Sadies Court in Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after officers stopped him on Airline Highway at 3:31pm Saturday, police said.

Edward Boone Saunders, 48, of the 600 block of Gabriel Court in Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after officers received a call of possible drunken driving at San Juan Road and Miller Road in Hollister at 10:39pm Saturday, police said.

All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
