Burglary, Tres Pinos Road
At 11:15 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to the Kmart parking lot after a report of a vehicle break-in. The reporting party found their front door ajar and nearly 100 CDs, a suitcase and medication were taken. Police have no suspects.
Vandalism, Paradise Drive
After 1 p.m. Thursday, police reported vandalism to a community mailbox on the 2400 block of Paradise Drive. The graffiti was random and was just a bunch of lines, officers reported. The graffiti is not believed to be gang related. Police have no suspects.
Vandalism, Apricot Lane
Police reported a vehicle break-in between 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday near the 1000 block of Apricot Lane. The reporting party’s car’s front, back and rear passenger windows were smashed. A surveillance camera was able to catch a male suspect break all three windows before leaving but at this time police have no suspects.
Assault with deadly weapon, Meridian Street
Police reported an assault with a deadly weapon at Marguerite Maze Middle School Friday. A 12-year-old student attacked two students with a pocketknife twice Friday. School officials were able to take the knife from the juvenile before calling the police. The student was cited and is being charged. There were no injuries.
Minor in possession, Monterey Street
Officers responded to San Benito High School at 9:30 p.m. Friday when a 15-year-old student tried to bring marijuana to a school dance. At the dance, school officials were searching the students before they entered and a student was found with marijuana in his pockets. Officers arrived and cited the student.
Burglary, West Street
Police reported a vehicle break-in between 10 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday at the 500 block of West Street. The vehicle owner parked the car overnight and discovered that the stereo, amplifier, books and wallet were taken. The vehicle showed no signs of forced entry or any damage. Police have no suspects.
Burglary, Recht Street
Police reported a home break-in that took place between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday, as the homeowners were at work. When they arrived home, they noticed two video game systems, two computers and some jewelry were taken, Police have no suspects.
Contributing to delinquency, Hazel Street
In the first block of Hazel Street, as officers were on patrol, they discovered two 18-year-olds giving alcohol to minors at 1 a.m. Saturday. Police drove by the area and noticed one of the 18-year-olds was on probation. When they went to talk with him, they discovered the two 18-year-olds were giving alcohol to minors. The 18-years olds were cited.
Shooting, Chestnut Lane
At 1 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a report of shots fired in the vicinity of Chestnut Lane. When officers responded they found no evidence, including bullet casings or damage, of shoots fired. But the next morning a resident found a bullet shell near the sidewalk. Police have reported no injuries and at this time have no suspects.
Attempted burglary, Freedom Drive
Just after 10:25 p.m. Saturday near the 900 block of Freedom Drive, police reported a man tried to break into a vehicle before a neighbor chased the suspect off. The neighbor heard a loud noise and went outside and caught the suspect breaking the vehicle’s window. No items were taken from the car and police have no suspects.
Disorderly Conduct, East Street
Officer responded to the 800 block of East Street at 12:15 a.m. Sunday when a group of three men got into a fight with an Agua Azul security guard. The men were asked to leave after they had become increasingly drunk but when asked they became physical. When officers arrived they determined all three suspects were extremely drunk and took them to jail.
Under the influence, Brittany Circle
Just after 1 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a call of someone trying to jump fences near the intersection of Brittany Circle and Line Street. When officers arrived they saw the man in a white shirt, who was stumbling, trying to jump fences. When officers asked, the man said he was looking for a friends but he was acting “paranoid.” Officers determined the suspect was on some sort of controlled substance and arrested him.
