Visitors walk down Fifth Street to get a look at some of the vendors at the Hollister Motorcycle Rally.

It appears there were no major police emergency incidents related to the Hollister Rally that wrapped up Saturday, according to Police Chief David Westrick.
Westrick said Hollister police will provide crime statistics Monday, while Lt. Edward Escamilla from the county jail said he would work Monday on providing jail information from the July 4 weekend.
Westrick in an email to the Free Lance did note there was a stabbing early Saturday at East and Fourth streets. But he said it looks like it was gang-related and not associated with the motorcycle rally.
Additionally, there was a non-injury, hit-and-run accident Friday afternoon involving parked motorcycles in the rally area at Fifth and San Benito streets, he noted.
Westrick responded that police did not keep an official attendance estimate. He did say he believed it was the “largest two days of any rally we have ever had as far as motorcycles at the event.”
While this year’s rally was over two days, official attendance at the most recent rally five years ago was 93,000 over three days. Rally Manager Mark Cresswell this year pushed for a two-day event because the third day, a Sunday, was typically slow in prior event years.
