HOLLISTER
The Hollister Police Department is continuing to investigate a stabbing that occurred last weekend on Hawkins Street, according to a press release from the HPD.
A police officer on patrol shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday came across a 20-year-old man who had been stabbed multiple times in the back and was bleeding “profusely,” according to police. The man was flown to a Bay Area hospital and is listed in stable condition.
The officer had noticed what appeared to be blood on clothing of the victim, who was walking unsteadily at Hawkins and Washington streets, according to police. Two other people also were helping the injured man.
Witnesses confirmed the man had been stabbed at a party in the 300 block of Hawkins Street, where six to 10 males wearing dark clothing attacked the victim while he was outside the residence by himself.
The assailants ran from the scene when the victims’ friends came out of the home. Police reported that one of the witnesses joked and laughed about what they had done as they ran away, according to police.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Detective David Anderson at 636-4330. Residents also can anonymously call WeTIP at (800) 78-CRIME.
