Surveillance of suspect

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects in an armed robbery at a downtown liquor store last weekend.

At about 11:20 p.m. Saturday, two suspects entered Pacheco’s Liquors at South and San Benito streets. One of the suspects pointed a gun at a clerk and demanded money, while another clerk pulled out a handgun and exchanged shots with the culprit. Nobody was believed to be hit, according to a police statement.

According to the statement: Both suspects ran from the store and were seen leaving in a white, 2000, BMW 328i similar to the one pictured in a photo provide by police. One suspect was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and was about 5 feet 7 inches tall and about 200 pounds. The other suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and was about 5 feet 11 inches tall and 150 pounds.

The Hollister Police Department is pursuing several leads and is asking the for public’s help with any information. Anyone with information regarding this incident is requested to contact Officer Carlos Rodriguez at (831) 636-4330.
