A possible gang-related shooting reported at 9:17 p.m. Tuesday has the Hollister Police Department searching for a group of three suspects accused of attempted murder.
Officers on patrol heard the gunshots ringing in the area of Central Avenue on Tuesday, according to a police report. On their way to the area, dispatchers received a 911 call reporting a victim suffering from a gunshot wound on Ventura Court.
Police contacted the victim, who was suffering with a wound to his leg shortly afterward.
Several men in a green Ford Taurus approached the victim as he was walking home, according to the report. The men asked the victim if he was a Sureno gang member.
Denying any gang affiliation, the victim continued home onto Ventura Court. When the victim reached the street, three Hispanic males approached him.
One of the suspects was carrying a firearm and shot at the victim four to six times, according to the report. The victim was treated and released on scene.
The suspects are described as three Hispanic males in their late teens or early 20s. The shooter is described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing 120 pounds. He had a think mustache and was wearing a black San Francisco Giants hat with white “SF” letters, black clothing and gloves. The second suspect was wearing a black front-zippered sweatshirt and black pants. The third suspect was wearing dark clothes.
Witnesses described two additional vehicles, a cream Honda four-door sedan, a late 80s to early 90s model, and a blue or green mini-van, possible involved with the incident.
