Hollister police arrested four men suspected of brandishing a gun at a juvenile while in a car Thursday night, according to a statement.

Police were dispatched around 8 p.m. to the area of South Street and San Benito Street and alleged it was “regarding suspects in a white Toyota Corolla who brandished a semi-automatic handgun at a juvenile walking in the area,” according to police.

An officer found the vehicle leaving the area, and the car abruptly stopped near Sally and Park streets where the suspects “ignored officer’s orders and fled the vehicle on foot to a nearby residence.”

After a brief standoff, they surrendered without incident. The arrested suspects include Jesus Castro, 19; Christian Aispuro, 20; Blake Lopez, 18; and William Fajardo, 19, all from Hollister.

Police alleged the investigation revealed that the juvenile victim had been walking downtown when he was approached by the group who chased him and attempted to assault him.

“The victim sought refuge in a downtown business, where one of the subjects brandished a black handgun at him,” according to the statement, which did not specify the business.

Police alleged the suspects yelled gang slogans and flashed gang signs toward the victim. The suspects then fled the area in a vehicle, before police located them nearby. The victim does not appear to be gang affiliated.

The suspects face charges of obstructing a peace officer, brandishing a handgun and conspiracy to commit a crime.
