Four school buses on Saturday were struck by “small projectiles” in what authorities are calling an isolated attack, according to a press release from the California Highway Patrol.

It occurred at 8:30 p.m. when the buses had been eastbound in a convoy along Highway 152. The four buses were damaged by what the CHP is calling BBs or pellets fired from several unknown locations. The release said the shots most likely were fired from a passenger in a vehicle traveling in the same direction of the buses.

After the attacks, two other buses that had remained at Casa De Fruta were escorted by CHP units from Santa Clara and Merced counties over the Pacheco Pass. No other attacks were reported after the escort.

The release did not state where the buses were going, but none of the passengers were injured as a result of the attack.

There are no suspects at this time but a full investigation will be conducted, according to the CHP.

If you have any information of these attacks, call Officer Casey with the Hollister/Gilroy CHP office at (408) 848-2324.
