Roberta Brass Garrettson (‘Bert’), a Sun Valley, Idaho pioneer and early ambassador, passed away in Twin Falls, ID. She was born on March 15, 1912 in Caldwell, ID to Ernest F. and Gertrude Hart Brass. She was the youngest and last of the five Brass children, including her twin brother Richard and older sisters Ernestine, Elizabeth and Marjorie.

In August of 1939, Roberta married the love of her life, Earl Aquila “Quil” Garrettson.

She is survived by her 4 children, Trudy, CA; Gary, CA; Marion, Twin Falls and Richard, CA.

Roberta is deeply loved and admired by all her four children, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors. Each person she met was a “good individual” in her mind. She had a beautiful spirit, a quick wit, and a love of life, with all its trials, tribulations and triumphs. To Bert, every day was wonderful and full of lessons and happiness. Roberta is an inspiration to all of us not only how to live, but how to exit gracefully.

A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends Sunday, November 2, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Glenna Glover’s residence, 811 N. Walnut Ave., Ketchum.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made: Hospice Vision, Orphan Acres, an Equine Rescue and Rehab. Sanctuary or American Red Cross.
