Tres Pinos saddle bronc rider Elliot French continued his strong start to 2011 last week when he finished in third place at the Amicus Club PRCA Rodeo in Alexandria, La, according to prorodeo.com.

French scored a 77 to finish within the top three riders. Edging out Sterling Crawley’s 75, which placed the resident of College Station, Texas, in fourth place, French finished behind both Heith and Cody DeMoss, who earned scores of 84 and 79 to place first and second, respectively.

The DeMoss brothers are also in first and second place in the current PRCA World Standings.

French figures into the Top 50 World Standings as well, and is currently ranked at No. 41. He is also positioned fourth in the California Circuit Standings.

The money-earning win for French in Louisiana comes just one week after the bronc rider took first in the average at the Dodge California Circuit Finals Rodeo. French rode three head to a score of 225, and will advance to the Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo as a result.

The national circuit finals will be held in Oklahoma City from March 31 to April 3.
