Ronald J. Koll, long-term resident of Hollister, CA, passed away at the age of 70 on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Dominican Rehabilitation Center in Santa Cruz, CA from complications of Diabetes.
Ronald was the first son of Robert Koll of Holland & his wife, Helen of Kerman, CA. Ronald was born in Fresno, CA on June 21, 1938. He attended local public schools in Fresno from K-12th grade. After graduating high school, Ronald joined the U.S. Army and moved to Santa Cruz and later settled in Hollister where he raised all 3 of his daughters. He was a restaurateur and successful business owner for over 32 years.
Ronald enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, and most of all, Pismo Beach, CA. His family has made a commitment to continue honoring Ronald with their annual tradition of traveling to Pismo Beach for holidays and other celebrations. He has a strong group of close friends and always was known for his love and generosity shown to all.
Ronald was a member of the California Rotary Association, Hollister Elks Lodge, and Tres Pinos Historical Society.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents Robert Koll, Helen Legari, step-father Joe Legari; and sister, Darlene Kohl.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; daughter Tamra and son-in-law Craig, daughter Carla and son-in-law Christopher; and daughter Kristy and her fiance Jonathan; proud grandfather of Natalie Makena Haugh; 2 brothers: Joey and Geno, and several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Ronald’s family will honor his wishes of a private, family service and donations to be made to the American Diabetes Association or to Dominican Rehabilitation Center at 610 Frederick Street in Santa Cruz, CA.
