Rosalinda G. Silva passed away Friday evening at the Mabie Northside Skilled Nursing Facility in Hollister. Rosalinda was born on December 4, 1916, in Cedros, Faial, Azores and was 91 years old. Rosalinda and her husband Antonio made a brave and courageous

decision to immigrate to this country with their children on July 21, 1959. Rosalinda laundered the alter linens and priests robes to put her four youngest children through Sacred Heart School and was a devoted member of the parish. She also worked for Guerra Nut Shelling and local canneries for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of fifty-six years, Antonio G. Silva. Rosalinda was the youngest of eight brothers and sisters. She was a devoted mother to six children; Manuel Silva, (Carol), Mary Adeline Barrett, (Bud), Rosalinda

Da Rosa, (Manuel), Anthony Silva, (Cindy), Joseph Silva, (Frances), and Mary Amelia Alvernaz, (Carlos). Rosalinda has fourteen grandchildren that absolutely adored their grandmother; Rick, Dan, Randy, Louis, Manny, John, Rose Marie, Brian, Kevin, Lisa, Mark, David, Carla and Kelly, great-grandmother to 21.

Rosalinda was a soft-spoken woman with a giving and warm heart. She has left behind many, many wonderful memories of her love and dedication for her family and friends – an unconditional love. She prepared Sunday dinner for the entire family for many years. She enjoyed gardening and displaying her flowers and a dish of fresh cookies and sweetbread. Rosalinda was a member of the SDES Portuguese Lodge and UPPEC, where she provided insurmountable amount of time dedicated to the Holy Spirit.

Visitation will be held at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito Street, on Thursday, February 21st from noon to 5:00 P.M. A rosary, followed by a mass, will be held Thursday evening February 21st at 7:00 P.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5th and College Streets. Graveside services will start at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home on Friday, February 22nd at 9:30 A.M. and proceed to the Calvary Cemetery for burial and committal services.
