Rosen A. “Pop” Batrez March 1, 1934 – June 6, 2014

Visitation will be Thursday, June 12th, 2014, from 12:00 noon until 8:30 P.M., with the Rosary offered at 7:00 P.M. at the mortuary chapel. Family and friends will leave the mortuary on Friday morning at 9:30 A.M. for a Mass at 10:00 A.M. at the Old Mission San Juan Bautista. Interment, San Juan District Cemetery.  Rosen Alvin “Pop” Batrez passed away in Gilroy, CA on June 6th at the age of 80 years. A native of Kersey, CO, Rosen has been a resident of San Benito County since 1975.
 Rosen worked as a Professional Machinist for Teledyne for 48 years until his retirement, at which time he became a “100% Grandpa” to his grandchildren.
 A devoted parishioner of the Old Mission San Juan Bautista.
 Rose is survived by his wife Sybil Batrez; his children Lori Ramirez, Charley Guevara (Greg), Karen Gonzalez (Saul Jr.), Susie Vasquez (Bob), Rosan First (John), and Gina Serrano (Rod); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was one of 11 siblings.
