Entered into rest in Salinas at the age of 64. He was born in Hollister and lived here all of his life. He served in the US Army from 1967 to 1969 and was a member of Sacred Heart Church. He worked most of his adult life as a truck driver last working for El Modeno Gardens. In his free time he enjoyed playing pool and liked to bowl.

He is survived by his mother and her husband, Ruth and Jess Valadez of Hollister, his sisters and brother and their spouses, Sally and Daniel Yanez of Hollister, Jerry and Pam Marquez of Hollister and Gloria and Louis Rodriguez of Morgan Hill. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Carlos Marquez Jr, Richard Marquez and Ernie Marquez.

Friends can pay their respects on Thursday, March 13th from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. A procession will leave the funeral home for a Mass at Sacred Heart Church at 10:00 A.M. on Thurs. Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery. Military rites will be offered by VFW Post 9242. A reception will follow the services at Dona Esther’s Restaurant in San Juan Bautista.

Donations are preferred to The American Cancer Society in memory of Mr. Marquez.
