A surplus of cattle are being sold off because the high cost to keep them fed with and with little no rain the grazing lands are becoming more and more baren.

Centennial Livestock is missing approximately 200 head of Mexican feeder steers from the Idler Ranch in San Benito County, according to a press statement released today by the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office.

The cattle were last seen on April 5 and were discovered missing the last week of May. The cattle are branded with a running capital letter “W” over a capital letter “L” on the left shoulder.

A reward of $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the theft of these cattle.
