Sharen Oliveira passed away at her home Dec. 28th at the age of 60 years, surrounded by her loving family.
Sharen was a native of Salinas but spent most of her life in Hollister. A graduate of San Benito High School, she had worked as a Teachers Aid for the Hollister School District; was employed at Holex, and lastly, worked as a Quality Control Statistician for Cable Car Sun Glasses in Hollister. Sharen was a former member of the Glad Tidings Church of San Juan Bautista. ” Her home and her yard was her castle”, said her family. She enjoyed the out of doors, gardening, as well as her hiking trips through Yosemite and other state and national parks with her husband Michael. A favorite hobby was collecting fine china plates, platters, and tea cups from all over the world. Besides her love for her grandson and sharing in his activities, she was very fond of animals, especially her cats and dogs. She was the daughter of Audrey Gomes of Hollister and the late William Charles Knapp.
Besides her husband Michael J. Oliveira, she is survived by her daughter Lisa DeWitt of Santa Clara; grandson Adrian Gary of Santa Clara; sister Karen Reyes (spouse Jacob) of Salinas; nephews Todd Reyes of S. F. and Justin Reyes of Sacramento; aunt Margaret Collins of Hollister; her father-in-law and mother-in-law Albert and Donna Oliveira of King City; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Jeff and Gayla Oliveira of King City, Steve and Lynnie Oliveira of San Ardo, and Ed and Marilyn Sedgeberg of Wrightwood, CA; many nieces, nephews, and other members of her extended family.
Friends are invited to a celebration of Sharen’s life on Friday, January 11th at 6:00 P.M. at the Ridgemark Golf & Country Club Tennis Center, 3800 Airline Hwy, Hollister. A reception will follow.
