Editor,

Late Monday evening, gunshots were heard in our neighborhood, and suddenly I found myself holding my son feeling very unsafe in Hollister. I had never felt this way before and I have lived in Hollister all of my life.

The sound of a fire truck, an ambulance and police cars filled the air in our neighborhood. As everyone watched without belief, the paramedics carried a man out from his home. Policemen closed off the street and began searching for what seemed to be evidence of the shooting. It’s very shocking as a parent to see all of the violence in our community.
