The Hollister man accused of using social networking websites to meet and rape two suspected victims has a preliminary examination set for 8:30 a.m. Monday, according to court records.
Hollister police in September arrested Jacobs, age 21 at the time, on suspicion of raping a second victim in the same month, July of last year, after meeting her at a Hollister residence and assaulting her.
Jacobs had his latest hearing Tuesday, a pre-preliminary examination before the preliminary hearing scheduled for Monday where a judge can decide whether there is enough evidence for a trial. That hearing is set for 8:30 a.m. in room 101 before Judge Steven Sanders, according to records.
The latest arrest in September was for an assault alleged to occur July 8. Detectives previously arrested Jacobs on July 22 in Hollister. Police believe Jacobs had used social media to get in contact with his victim in both suspected rapes.
