San Benito County prosecutors are charging two 17-year-old males as adults in the stabbing homicide of Hollister’s Andres Guzman.
The district attorney’s office filed charges alleging homicide and gang enhancements against Frank Justo of Morgan Hill and Edward Macias of Hollister. Justo was arraigned Friday and pleaded not guilty, while Macias was set for an arraignment later Monday.
They are both accused of homicide, which carries a potential sentence of 25 years to life in state prison, along with the gang enhancements that could increase the penalties if convicted.
Hollister police arrested Justo on Wednesday and Macias on Friday for the suspected murder of Andres Guzman, 19, of Hollister, who was found Aug. 8 with stab wounds to the chest at Fourth and Powell streets. Guzman later died at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital.
