Tom Frank passed away peacefully on January 20, 2013. Born in Richmond, VA, on June 18, 1924, the son of Pompilio and Trisa Franchi, and sister to Frances Aloi.
Tom graduated from John Marshall H.S. in 1942, where his amazing mechanical skills and passion for flight began. He was a proud WW II veteran, serving in the US Army Air Corp where he excelled as a bombardier on B-24’s and B-29’s.
Tom met the love of his life, Mary Anne Reidelbach, in Richmond, VA., and married in 1949. They had a long happy union of 43 years prior to Mary Anne’s passing in 1992.
Tom and Mary Anne spent many wonderful years in Los Altos Hills where they raised three children, made some very good wine, and Tom had an exemplary 35 year career as a professional flight engineer with Pan American Airlines.
He is survived by his daughter, Maria Trull of Morgan Hill, CA, and sons and daughters in-law; Paul and Ann Frank of Portland, OR, John and Rosie Frank of Moorpark, CA and seven grandchildren; Anne Marie, Thomas, Joseph, David, Michael, Merette and Nicole. He also dearly loved his numerous nieces and nephews and cherished the family time spent in Virginia. Many happy family memories were made during vacations to Italy, Florida, and Lake Tahoe, CA.
In later years, Tom took up residence in Morgan Hill, CA. He enjoyed spending his time with the Italian Men’s Club, playing Bingo, working crossword puzzles, watching his grandsons play football and baseball and always taking on cleaning and repair projects for anyone who needed help.
Tom has left us but will never be forgotten.
