Surrounded by a loving family, Toshio passed away peacefully at St. Louise Hospital in Gilroy, CA.

He is survived by his devoted and dedicated wife of 53 years, Sumako Kanaya, son Douglas Kanaya of Pleasanton, CA, daughter and son-in-law Sharon Kanaya and Gerry Slattery of San Francisco, CA, and son and daughter-in-law, Randy Kanaya and Iracema Kanaya and their two children, Emilio, and Ariana, of Chicago, IL.

Toshio was a strawberry farmer in Santa Clara Valley from 1952 to 1959. He then worked in Milpitas, CA at the Ford Motor plant for over 25 years as a Quality Control Inspector. In retirement, Toshio started a landscaping business. His favorite activities were surf fishing and gardening.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service that will be held at Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy, Wednesday, October 25, at 7:00 pm, 129 Fourth Street, Gilroy, CA.
