Everyone from the Anzar Hawks who advanced to the Mission Trail Athletic League Trials extended their season toward Friday’s MTAL Championships on Tuesday at Pacific Grove.

Valerie Quezada (3,200), Crystal Prado (long jump), Sabrina Gonzales (800) and the girls’ 4×100 relay team (Gonzales, Prado, Myra Quezada and Melissa Weckerle) advanced to the finals uncontested in their events.

Only Anzar senior Izzy Parra had to qualify in the 800 meters, and he did just that when he recorded a 2:07 to finish in fourth place on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, following the conclusion of the Coastal Athletic League Championships last Friday, Anzar head coach Danny Lowell was notified that Krystal Ruiz-Rocha had also qualified toward the MTAL Trials in the triple jump after her leap of 24-11.

Ruiz-Rocha is expected to compete alongside the rest of her teammates at Friday’s MTAL Championships.
