Hollister Police Officers arrested a man during a traffic stop for possession of heroin for sales and possession of an illegal weapon. A search of the suspect’s home resulted in an arrest of another suspect on drug charges Thursday.

At about 2:45 p.m., Officer Michael Paddy made a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Michael Polizzi, 21, on the 300 block of Tres Pinos Road. Polizzi was found to be on active San Benito County Probation. Police searched the vehicle and located black tar heroin, drug paraphernalia, and an illegal weapon.

San Benito County Probation authorized a search of Polizzi’s residence. Hollister Police officers conducted a search of the home on the 300 block of Mary Drive. The search yielded a significant amount of black tar heroin and other items to indicate sales of narcotics. Later that afternoon, police were called to the home again when several suspicious persons were seen entering the home through the back yard. Officers located a group of people in the home.

Officers subsequently arrested one of the young men in the group, Austin Thomas Machado, 20, for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Michael Polizzi was booked at the San Benito County Jail for the following charges: possessing an illegal weapon, possessing black tar heroin, possessing drug paraphernalia, and possessing black tar heroin for the purposes of sales. Austin Machado was also booked at the jail for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
