Local authorities are investigating the violent assaults of two men over the weekend, one on Hillcrest Road and the other at The Cedar House on Highway 156.
The assaults are not connected, but both men were flown by helicopters to Bay Area hospitals.
A 32-year-old Fair Oaks, Calif., man was beaten to the ground, kicked in the head and stomped on the face outside of a wedding Saturday night at The Cedar House, 7511 Pacheco Pass Highway, San Benito County Undersheriff Pat Turturici said.
Witnesses told deputies that the altercation was about language used toward a woman, Turturici said.
The suspect, whom the Sheriff’s Office is seeking, ran away after the beating, deputies reported.
Turturici said the Sheriff’s Office suspects a Hollister man in the Cedar House beating. The victim was released from the hospital Sunday, deputies said.
In another attack shortly after midnight Sunday in the 100 block of Hillcrest Road, Hollister police found a man bleeding profusely from a cut on his head, said Officer Rosie Betanio, a spokeswoman for the department.
There may have been an altercation between the victim – a 28-year-old Hollister man who was flown to a Bay Area hospital – and another group of men, Betanio said.
Officers are investigating and do not have any suspects, Betanio said. Authorities don’t know how the man’s head was cut.
