The accident was first reported around 3:30 p.m. The CHP expected the highway to be closed, to Highway 101, for three to six hours, according to the CHP.

The big rig overturned and was in several pieces, according to the CHP. The truck rolled off the side of the road and came to a rest against an oak tree, while upside down, according to Calfire.

Firefighters had “an extensive extrication to retrieve the victim” as they awaited the coroner around 4 p.m.

The truck has been hauling two trailers about one-half to three-quarters full of dry cement, according to Calfire.
