HOLLISTER

Police have arrested two suspects in connection with an assault Jan. 22 that resulted in an 18-year-old victim sustaining life-threatening injuries before surviving, according to a press release from the Hollister Police Department.

Police have arrested two 17-year-old males in the case, but are seeking a possible third suspect for the incident reported on the 600 block of Chaparral Court.

There, the victim reported to police he was attacked by three individuals after he had asked them to return property he alleged they stole from his younger brother, according to the statement. The Hollister male had a large laceration to his forehead and multiple injuries around his head and face when police responded. While heading to the hospital, he became unconscious and had multiple seizures and needed assistance by a ventilator to breathe.

He was eventually transported to a Bay Area trauma center and survived critical injuries while being upgraded to stable condition, according to police.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the third suspect. Anyone with information should call (831) 636-4330 or WeTip at 1-800-78-CRIME.
