Visitation will be held Sunday, November 11, 2012, from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Habing Family Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, November 12, 2012, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

 Virginia Louise Petter, of Gilroy passed away, Tuesday, November 6, 2012, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born 91 years ago in Wilsonburg, W. VA, being one of ten children. She married her husband, Segundo Petter, in 1943. After her husband’s death in 1967, she and her daughter moved to Gilroy to be near family members.

 Virginia was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Italian Catholic Federation, Women In Touch and the St. Louise Hospital Auxiliary.

 Virginia was employed for 17 years by Gavilan College in the Food Services Dept.

 She is survived by her loving daughter Betty, and son-in-law Frank Angelino of Gilroy, her sister Catherine Second and brother Jim Cortez both of Clarksburg, W. VA. She was the adoring “Nani” to granddaughters Deanna (Jonathon) Small of Santa Clarita, Ca and Gina (John) Anderson of Gilroy and the proud great-grandmother to William and Matthew Anderson and Dominic Small.

 She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She had a very special place in her heart for her niece, RoseEmma Pelliccione of Gilroy.

 In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the St. Mary School Endowment Fund or the Italian Catholic Federation Scholarship Fund.
