Hollister police arrested two suspects previously wanted on suspicion of several felony charges – including vehicle theft – after they were caught trying to steal food from Safeway on Tres Pinos Road, police alleged in a statement.

Around 3 p.m. Tuesday, police allege that a 43-year-old Livermore man tried to leave the store with a shopping cart full of food without paying, according to a police release. Store employees tried to stop the man but he ran across the street to the Kmart parking lot. The suspect arrested was Sandy James Schikore, 43, of Livermore, according to police.

Once there, he came into contact with a woman driving a large recreational vehicle, according to witnesses, as stated in the statement from police. The woman eventually drove away, and the man tried to flee on foot. Police suspect that woman was Michelle Delury, 40, of Hollister.

Officers found the RV near Ladd Lance School and pulled it over. Officers discovered that the RV was reported stolen in Tracy, and inside was a handgun that was also stolen. The driver also had a felony warrant for her arrest in Santa Clara County because of a suspected drug charge.

Delury was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, conspiracy, possession of stolen property and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Schikore was found in the area of Target on Airline Highway after witnesses called police and guided them to the area, according to the press release.

Schikore was arrested on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy, possession of stolen property and possession of a stolen vehicle, according to police.

Those with more information regarding the incident are urged to call the Hollister Police Department at (831) 636-4330 or if wishing to remain anonymous, call WeTip at (800)-78-CRIME.
