Lujan, 25, on suspicion of attempted murder on a warrant obtained

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office arrested Matthew Lujan, 25, on suspicion of attempted murder on a warrant obtained by the Hollister Police Department.
Lujan, of Hollister, was wanted in connection to the stabbing of a victim at the Whiskey Creek Saloon on March 12. Police obtained a $500,000 warrant for his arrest on the charge of attempted murder, according to police.
Hollister police detectives received an anonymous tip regarding Lujan’s whereabouts in unincorporated Indio, according to a statement from police.
Hollister detectives coordinated with Riverside County Sheriff’s Office and requested its assistance in serving the arrest warrant. Riverside County sheriff deputies arrested Lujan without incident on April 10, according to police, in the statement released today. Lujan was transferred to the San Benito County Jail on April 13 and is scheduled for a court appearance on May 4.
