A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2015, at 1:00 P.M., at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey Road, Morgan Hill. A reception will follow at Mama Mia’s, 275 East Dunne Avenue, Morgan Hill. In lieu of flowers, we are inviting people to make a donation in Bill’s memory to one of three organizations that held a special place in his heart:  Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Victory Junction.
A much-loved husband, father, and grandfather, William Roth (Bill), 68, of Morgan Hill, CA, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2015, with his wife, Shari, present.
Bill bravely fought cancer for the past three years and sought aggressive treatment in the hope that he would be able to stay with us a little longer. He fought “the good fight” every day to be here for his family, and he never gave up.
Bill was born on December 31, 1946 in San Jose, CA, and resided in Morgan Hill, CA for the past 38 years.
He graduated from San Jose State University and proudly served as an officer in the U.S. Navy and received an Honorable Discharge.
Bill will always be remembered as a “people person” who made friends no matter where he went. He took a genuine interest in others, listened intently to what they had to share, and always treated them with respect and dignity.
His passion and perfection for his hobbies created so many wonderful memories of flying model airplanes, launching rockets, running trains, flying stunt kites, and bike rides that went on for miles.
His straight-forward approach, unwavering commitment, and determination were unmatched. He was always there for you if you needed him. Even while he was fighting his own battle, he was there to listen, to cheer you on, and to support you.
Bill will be greatly missed by many friends and family. The void that is left behind cannot easily be filled, but his memory will live on in those who loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shari; son, Steven and wife Katie; daughter, Kimberly; grandsons, Thomas, Chase, and Miles; and granddaughter, Kayla.
The family of Bill Roth would like to thank all the amazing doctors and medical staff at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara. While they were treating his cancer, they always saw him as a human being and a friend. They offered Bill and Shari encouragement and support and made sure they knew they were not in this battle alone.
