A 33-year-old woman was hospitalized with possible minor
injuries Tuesday in a single vehicle rollover that slowed traffic
on U.S. Highway 101 just south of Gilroy, according to the
California Highway Patrol.

The woman, a Gilroy resident, was driving northbound in a silver Honda Accord and had just passed the State Route 25 junction when her steering wheel reportedly “locked on her,” causing her to veer to the left and the vehicle to roll over in the roadway, CHP Officer Luis Valdez said.
Valdez said the driver was the only person in the car. She complained of pain in her back and neck and was transported via ambulance to Regional Medical Center of San Jose, Valdez said.
The crash, called into dispatchers at 11:27 a.m., occurred between the Rapazzini Winery and Ralph’s Cherry Hut.
The road was closed for several minutes while emergency crews moved the car to the side of the highway. Traffic began flowing smoothly, though slowly, around noon.
