Born Doris Julia Zoeter, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to loving parents, James Cornelius Zoeter and Julia Wilcox Patterson.
Doris received an RN from the University of Michigan in 1946. She continued her education at Western Michigan receiving her Bachelor of Science in 1949. She went on to be the personal secretary for Dr. Stuart Wolf, Professor and Head of the Department of Medicine at the University of Oklahoma.
It was at OU that Doris met and later married Harry Beeler Jones, M.D. Harry and Doris had a beautiful marriage for 44 years, until Harry’s death on Christmas Day 2002. They raised their family in Los Angeles and retired to Boulder, CO.
They are survived by two daughters, Karen Aitken Bernosky of Gilroy, Pamela Jones Temaat of Boulder, Colorado, and three grandchildren, Alex Peri, Emma Temaat, and Lucas Bernosky.
Doris has lived with her daughter, Karen, son-in-law Eugene, and grandson, Lucas Bernosky, at their home in Gilroy for the past eight years.
Doris loved art, music, the theater, reading, and flowers.  She especially loved nice lunches with friends and sitting in the garden, enjoying the beautiful Gilroy weather. Doris was happiest when the whole family would travel to Baja for the holidays.
She was a very loving and generous mother and grandmother. She will be terribly missed, but never forgotten, and forever loved. Rest in Peace Mom.
