Dear Editor:
I am writing this letter to remind the citizens of San Benito County not to drink and drive this holiday season.
With more people expected to travel on America’s highways during this holiday season, this month could be one of the deadliest periods ever for impaired driving fatalities.
Don’t be fooled. Impaired driving is one of the most often committed crimes, randomly killing someone every 30 minutes.
Nationally, impaired driving fatalities are on the rise. More than 17,000 people are killed each year and more than 300,000 are injured. Too many people still don’t understand it’s a crime to mix alcohol, drugs and driving.
If you’re feeling “buzzed,” you are most likely impaired. Remember, you drink, you drive, we all lose.
