Paul was born to William and Grace Iwanaga in Gilroy, CA. He grew up with a passion for racing motorcycles and became well known in the flat track community.
After high school, he pursued a career in landscaping, which he followed for over 30 years. He was naturally talented at landscape design and installation, receiving many CLCA awards throughout his career.
Paul married Teri Obata in 1985 and they had two daughters and a son.
He is survived by his mother, Grace Iwanaga and his children, Lauren Mantani (Matthew), Jackie, and Damon Iwanaga, with whom he shared his passion for motorcycles. He is also survived by his brother, David (Cynthia), sister, Lisa Sheedy (David), brothers, Jeffrey, Glenn, and Warren, and a niece and five nephews.
Paul truly lived for his children. He spent countless weekends at dance competitions, soccer tournaments, and motorcross races as their #1 fan.  In his free time, Paul enjoyed fishing, bowling, and cooking for his children.
He also earned three national numbers as a professional AMA Flat Track racer, something he was very proud of.
He loved people, helping others, and always made sure people were having fun. His incredible spirit will live on in the memories of the many people whose lives he touched.
