The Mexican American Committee on Education of San Benito County
will be honoring Joe Paul Gonzales and Marcellina Munoz at the
annual MACE Cinco de Mayo Scholarship Banquet.
The Mexican American Committee on Education of San Benito County will be honoring Joe Paul Gonzales and Marcellina Munoz at the annual MACE Cinco de Mayo Scholarship Banquet.

It’s set for 5 p.m. May 3 at the Veterans Memorial Building and the cost is $50.

MACE has awarded $10,000 in scholarships each year to graduating seniors in San Benito County from the proceeds of the banquet. Mace has raised more than $342,000 and has granted scholarships to 425 students, according to a press release.

Assemblywoman Anna Caballero will be the keynote speaker at the banquet, to be emceed by Richard Ybarra, senior partner with Y-Com Public Affairs in San Diego.

Participants who attend will enjoy Mariachi Sonra, a program, dinner and entertainment, according to the release. There will be music by Johnny Hernandez.

Table reservations for 10 or more are encouraged. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

MACE anticipates a sold-out event.
