Died on February 20, 2008 after a short illness. He was one of 13 children born in Shawmut, Montana to James and Sadie Roma. He grew up on the family ranch until he gladly joined the Navy at the start of WWII. He was awarded The Purple Heart for wounds received in combat. After his service in the Navy he returned to Montana and married Helen L. Olson from Two Dot. Together they were the proud parents of 4 children. In 1953 they moved to Willow Glen, California and 20 years later they moved to San Martin, California. He worked for 35 years as an Operating Engineer and worked on many roads and projects around the valley. He was a master mechanic and fabricator. He was also a skilled horseman.

He was preceded in death by his wife Helen. He is survived by his children, Bill (Rhonda), Carol, Ted (Dixie), and Debbie. Six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

His great sense of humor will be missed by all that knew him.
