Corralitos resident
Carol Salbacka-Heintz-Flook died Sunday, March 2, 2003 at her home in Corralitos after a three-year battle with cancer. She was 61.

Mrs. Flook was born in Palo Alto and earned a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from San Jose State University. She was co-owner of Transitions Rehabilitation in Gilroy, where she maintained her practice as a state-licensed occupational therapist.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, OTAC and the Oriana Chorale of San Benito County. She enjoyed singing classical and performance-style music and playing the piano for herself and others.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Flook of Corralitos; her daughter, Brenda Hastings of Gilroy; her son, Leif Heintz of Boise, Idaho; her brother, Walter Salbacka Jr. of Seaside; her sister, Phylis Rogers of Lake Elmo, Minn.; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to a memorial celebration Thursday at 10 a.m. at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home. Private inurnment will have been held.

Memorials are preferred to the Carol Heintz-Flook Memorial Fund for the Disadvantaged, in care of Transitions Rehabilitation, 7101 Monterey St., Gilroy, CA 95020.
