Catherine Naomi Schneider

On November 19th, 2009 Catherine Naomi Schneider went to be with her Lord. She lived in Hollister 52 years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Anthony Joseph Schneider Sr, her infant son, Michael Arthur and her two sisters, Lillian Azevedo and Florence Guthrie.

In 1986, with the help of her husband, Naomi founded Crisis Pregnancy Services (now Compassion Pregnancy Services) in Hollister.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Edward and D.D. Schneider of Garden Valley, CA, Jo and John Amelio of San Juan Bautista, Anthony II and Jeanette Schneider of Hollister and Ramona and Larry Renfrow of Hollister. She is also survived by her sixteen grandchildren, thirty five great grandchildren, four step great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She also has many nieces and nephews.

Naomi was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church and was a LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) at Hazel Hawkins Hospital for 25 years.

Naomi enjoyed reading, cooking, dancing, making jewelry as well as many other interests. She especially enjoyed being with her family.

Friends can pay their respects on Tuesday, Nov. 24th from 1:00 P.M . until 8:00 P.M. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. A prayer service will be at 7:00 P.M.at the funeral home. Her Mass will be on Wednesday, Nov. 25th at 10:00 A.M. at St. Benedict’s Church on Fairview Rd. Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery.
