John Drake, 87, died Friday, February 9, 2007, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in St. Louis, MO, on August 15,1919, the son of Walter and Blanche (Szkola) Drake. Mr. Drake served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was employed as an aircraft mechanic for United Airlines for over 29 years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling. He is survived by his wife, Rita (Spiegel) Drake of Peru, 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Toni Drake of Clarement, CA, Robert and Kate Adams-Drake of Boulder Creek, CA, 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Janeen Drake-Guay and Maurice Guay of Mooers, Joanna and Robert Eades of Manhattan Beach, CA, 5 grandchildren, David, Rebecca, Theresa, Conner and Dillon, a nephew Harry, and 2 nieces, Carol Anne and Vivian. A brother, Joseph Drake and a sister, Ann Murphy, died earlier. Calling hours will be held at the convenience of the family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11A.M. Wednesday from St. Louis de France Church in Sciota. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are under direction of the O’Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home, 94 Court St. in Plattsburgh.
