John Wesley German died on May 5, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Joyce, and their sons Michael (Shannon) German and William (Jill) German and his grandchildren; John, Holly, Joshua and Ashley.

 He leaves his sisters Jeannette (Norman) Dickens) and Arlene (Robert) Grider, his sister-in-law Sharon Selden and many nieces and nephews.

 He was born September 9, 1936 in Whittier, CA to John and Mildred German. John was raised on the family farm in Aromas and graudated from Hollister High School in 1955. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served in Morocco. It was there he sustained serious injuries.

 He moved to Watsonville where he married Joyce Ramsey and raised their two sons.

 John worked in the strawberry industry for more than 40 years. He spent his retirement enjoying his family and raising beautiful gardens around his home. He was a brave and courageous man and all who knew him were proud to be a part of his life.

 The family appreciates the care John received from his doctors, the staff at Watsonville Hospital, Visiting Nurses, Valley Convalescent Hospital and Santa Cruz County Hospice.

 Remembrances may be made to a favorite charity.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Sunday, May 13th, 2012, at the United Presbyterian Church, 112 East Beach St., in Watsonville.
