Louie Nava, Jr. passed away suddenly in Hollister, July 5, 2008, at the age of 63. Born to Frances and the late Louie Nava, Sr. on October 1, 1944, in Hollister.

Louie attended Sacred Heart and San Benito High Schools. He coached football and basketball at Sacred Heart School. He also coached Babe Ruth Baseball for numerous years. He worked at the Boys School as a supervisor. Louie’s main occupation was touching the lives of many people and making them smile.

Preceded in death by his sister, Helen Nava, niece, Nicole Salinas and sister-in-law Sara Lyn Nava. and his grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Louie is survived by brothers, sister and spouses, George and Regina Nava, Isabelle and Ralph Nava, Margaret and Mario Salinas of Hollister, Tom and Elizabeth Nava of Tracy and David Nava of Los Banos. He also is survived by aunts, Katie Nava of Soledad, Alice Solano, Marcellina Munoz and Lupe Angulo all of Hollister and numerous cousins. He additionally is survived by nephews and nieces, Anthony, Gina, Jodi, Tim and Jamie-Lyn Nava all of Hollister, Annette and Lisa Gila of Madera, Matianita, Esperanza and Carolina Nava of Tracy, Sommer and Autumn Salinas of Hollister and numerous great nieces and nephews.

A memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Benedict Church, 1200 Fairview Road, Hollister. Inurnment at the St. Benedict Columbarium with a reception to follow in the church hall.
